PAGAD Eid-ul-Adha Message…

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

The People Against Gangsterism & Drugs greet you on this day of Eid-ul-Adha with the beautiful chants of:

Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar!! Allahu-Akbar!!!

Laahillaha Illalaahu Allahu Akbar, Allahu-Akbar Wallilaahil Gamd!

Allah is the Greatest! Allah is the Greatest!! Allah is the Greatest!!!

There is no God but Allah. Allah is the Greatest and all praise is due to Allah and Allah alone.

This celebration of Eid-ul-Adha is a culmination of very significant and important days in the history of Islam. Why do millions of our Muslim Brothers and Sisters (year in and out) leave their loved-ones and their worldly belongings behind, and gather in the holy city of Makkah, crying out:

Labbayk, Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayk, Allahumma Labbayk,

La Sharika Laka Labbayk!

Here am I before Thee, O Allah, doubly at Thy service,

There is no partner unto Thee, here am I!

Why do they start their Hajj with these beautiful words all dressed in the same garb, all equal in the eyes of Allah? Why do they gather on the plains of Arafah, pelt the Jamaraats and sacrifice an animal? The answer is simple… As Believers they have responded to a command from Allah.

How do we as the greater Ummah gain maximum benefit from this very powerful gathering of Believers? PAGAD’s response, message & plea is simple… To the millions of Believers who perform this wonderful journey, your hajj continues in all aspects of your lives. You need to keep the chants of the Takbeer and the Labbayk echoing in your hearts and souls. You need to always make Allah your Master and you always have to be of service to Allah (and Allah alone). To the millions who yearn for this journey and identify with the spirit of hajj, let us start our hajj here at home before we reach the holy city of Makkah.

What does this mean? In our work places, in our schools, in our businesses, in our mosques and in our streets – what is it that Allah Almighty wants from us as Believers? If we proclaim that Allah is the Greatest and the only God, then what would Allah want from us? Let us read and understand our Quran so that we will know what Allah wants from us.

Once we understand and know Allah’s guidelines, let us start the call of the Labbayk and be at the service of Allah (and Allah alone). When we are faced with the drug dealer or gangster in our streets, who will we serve? Knowing that this is the shaytaan trying to divert us from the path of Allah, what should our response be towards shaytaan? Our hujjaj go down on their knees, pick up their pebbles and pelt the shaytaan. What is our response as Believers and servants of Allah to the shaytaan that tempts us off the path of Allah? Are we prepared to face and fight the shaytaan when we are confronted with it in our daily lives or do we succumb and let shaytaan be our master?

O Believers, PAGAD calls on you to make a difference! Implement what is instructed by Allah and forbid and fight off shaytaan (in all its forms). Let the lessons and spirit of hajj remain with be with us in all aspects of our lives, Inshaa-Allah.

On this day of Eid, we pray and ask Allah to purify us, strengthen us and help us in the struggle against all forms of evil! We pray and ask Allah to strengthen all our Brothers in prison and make it easy for them and their families. May they be re-united with us soon, Inshaa- Allah! We also ask Allah to grant all the Martyrs a high place in Janna, and Sabr and contentment in the hearts of their families!

To the Muslims worldwide, PAGAD says:

Allah is the Greatest! Allah is the Greatest!! Allah is the Greatest!!!

Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar!! Allahu-Akbar!!!

Eid Mubarak to all!

The PAGAD Movement

Thikr Programme @ Abdus’ House…

“In the remembrance of Allah the hearts will find contentment…”

With this beautiful Quranic reminder to those who render themselves in absolute submission to implement the will of Allah, the PAGAD movement started their campaign in the Gauteng area. Under all circumstances do we bear witness that there is no god but Allah – for this was manifested in the Glorification of Allah. The participation of the locals in the Thikr at the Abdus’ House motivated everybody, Alghamdu-Lilaah. In the short talk after the Thikr, everybody was reminded that we must strive to not only enjoin that which is right and permissible, but our physical efforts must be equal to forbid and eradicate evil.
